Customs Procedure

When a container is stripped, a small portion of the cargo is inspected by the competent authority i.e. Customs, after which permission is granted to proceed with delivery. For full container deliveries, the inspection percentage will vary depending on the type of goods.

All containers listed under a single Bill of Entry must exit the port together. Final clearance will only be issued once the cargo passes any required certifications and inspections. If a health examination or other testing is necessary, container stripping will not be permitted until clearance is secured.

For containers stripped directly onto a truck, the cargo will remain on the truck within the port until the necessary clearance is obtained.
